NAFTA

Quote:"The 1993 North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) flooded Mexico with cheap subsidized U.S. agricultural products that displaced two million Mexican farmers."
Reflections: I know the North American Free Trade Agreement is supposed to be a good thing and it has helped Mexico out financially BUT there are always negatives to every situation. this is a perfect example of it. i'm sure NAFTA didn't mean to displace 2 MILLION Mexican farmers, but it did. Everything isn't perfect...ESPECIALLY when politics is involved.

Quote:"By strengthening the rules and procedures governing trade and investment on this continent, the NAFTA has allowed trade and investment flows in North America to skyrocket."
Reflections: Since this is from a government site, i'll take it with a grain of salt and say that trade probably hasn't "skyrocketed" but the philosophy behind NAFTA seems to be a good thing...for America.
